Don like I said in a prior post in this thread (above) if you want to sit in one spot 4-6 months there are better choices then Texas. If you want to move around every month Texas is big enough to accommodate that need over a winter time.
For me, once you seen one large dirt hill, acres of poor beach sand plus the dust storms that go with it, and tumbleweed blowing giving you that homey (not) feeling you've seen them all. That's my take on AZ.
BTW oil is now at around $50/barrel. Sounds like you were there when it was $200. Fort Stockton is the closest city in a huge area of "no" and "where" it reminds me a lot of AZ's "no" and "where" without the hills. Does have a nice DQ though. Never heard of any snowbird ever going there, but you may have.
