The OP figured it out. Texas is cheaper. $200/month lot rent. Eight dollar haircuts. Five dollar breakfasts. Just to name a few examples. The only really warm spot on a year to year basis is the extreme southern part near McAllen and Brownsville. This winter was actually too warm as air conditioners ran a lot. Cheap, windy, dirty, warm, cheap. Oh yeah, and more importantly, they love us Winter Texans down here.
