You should have been in AZ this winter. Plenty of water and the desert was screaming green.
I was in March. Still not nearly enough for me and DW.
I could see Parker maybe (was told river dries up though.) Quartzite was much nicer (trees and green) then I expected. Green Valley was the first dessert that I could see the beauty of. Yuma was just OK, but not for us. Lake Havasu sure has gotten big from the old days. Guessing no deals there anymore if you want to be on the river. I can see why people go to the surrounding Phoenix area for the activities, but still not for us. Flagstaff was nifty, but got snowed on.
We're just not into all beach and no ocean I guess. Hiking, biking, ATV'ing and 4 wheeling to me is like the first 5 minutes I've seen all the beach I need to see. Just not a dessert rat. Add in a small dust storm on I40 and I've never been so happy to see Oklahoma. :)
