We did Texas early one winter (November-December) and found the Corpus Christie - RGV areas to be cold and windy, same applied to Big Bend and west Texas. Arizona and southern California (south of Palm Springs) have been much better choices for us. Cost isn't a driver for us, the weather, the quality of the park and it's residents trumps the cost issue.
