Let me point out that we have been there in July. You can do it but it takes planning. Get up EARLY, 6 AM or so and get going on any more than very short hikes. We were going thru the gate at Arches before the rangers got there. Carry at least a liter of water per person. Wear big floppy hats and light colored clothing. Reserve afternoons for car touring. Works.
Keep Bryce, North Rim and Cedar Breaks for the end of your visit. Later in the month. And as someone pointed out you better get to the Zion parking lot very early or you won't find a place to park. And those rangers aggressively enforce the parking regs.
