We are going to stay a few days in southport and was wondering whats a good campground to stay at near the city?

I don't know there rates. They are not on the beach. Bridge to the island ( beach ) would be about 11/2 to 2 miles. If it is the place I am thinking of they have a bunch of long term occupants, but not sure. I will be going that way Wedn / Thurs may be able to give you a drive by report. Definitely not on the Beach. Only CG on HB is Holden Beach Pier / Campground. See my previous post on it. Drove by there today and counted 20 RVS, all types. Close quarters and very basic but oceanfront. Beach is nice there. There is a grill at the pier, and of course the pier for fishing.
