I would suggest staying at Dead Horse Ranch State Park.Water and electric hookups.You can see the ruins of Tuzigoot from there about a mile away.You are also within site of Jerome,an old mining town with lots of history and about 20 miles from Ft Verde an old Army post.If you get up in the northeast corner is Canyon de Chelly and the Hubbel Trading Post.Both are very interesting.Cottonwood Campground is ok but no hookups.
