Utah Itinerary

It sounds like a great trip. I would drop one of the days from Rocky Mountain National Park and add it to Mesa Verde National Park.

Go to Adventure Caravans and check their itinerary for their Great Western Parks tour to get some ideas. It starts in St. George Utah in September.

If you have not been in the Monument Valley/Goosenecks area you might want to consider more than one day. There are a number of places worth seeing in that area including:
Hovenweep National Monument,
Natural Bridges National Monument,
Bluff Fort,
South Fork of Mule Canyon and House on Fire,
The Valley of The Gods,
Edge of the Cedars State Park,
Dinosaur Museum.

If you have not been there, Goblin Valley State Park is on UT-24 and not out of the way when travelling between Capitol Reef and Arches.

If you haven't gotten reservations for RMNP you had better get them ASAP. You will have to check the web site and see the 1st date that you can reserve a site. That is especially true at Moraine C loop.
I think 7 days is a long time unless you have specific places to visit. I would suggest that you make reservations on the west side of RMNP at Stillwater campground and as soon as the reservation system will allow. I would also recommend that you visit the Arapahoe Bay area at the south end of Granby Lake and take the hike around Monarch Lake. It is a beautiful place and there are two primitive campgrounds
near there.
I think your planned time at Mesa Verde is more than enough and would be incline to spend a day at Hovenweep Nat'l monument on your way to Capital Reef. The ruins there are very different and the hikes to them are a great way to spend some time enjoying the area.

There is a cave to explore at Great Basin, but we didn't find a lot of other things to do. I'd shave at least 2 days off and add them to the Capitol Reef area. There are some excellent 4WD trails in that area.

Have you been to Goosenecks? Unless there is some other park of the park that we missed that park is just an empty, bare rock space. With spectacular views of the Goosenecks but I don't think I'd want to camp multiple days there. There is a great deal to do in that area besides the list above there is the Canyon of the Ancients. I thought Monument Valley is pretty much ruined by the way the Navaho's have commercialized it. The scenery is still spectacular tho so it's worth a drive thru.

Oh yes a warning about Mesa Verde. Many of the tours can ONLY be reserved online and they fill up. We were in Cortez for a week exploring the area and never managed to get any of those tours. Long House and the self guided tour are still available inpark.

I'd suggest doing what we did. Staying in Cortez and using that as a base camp for Mesa Verde, all the four corners area like Hovenweep ect, and Monument Valley. We stayed at La Mesa RV Park which was quite nice but it doesn't have a lot of rv resort type items. We payed a weekly rate of $150. Since we are out all day long I don't care about swimming pools and such.

Oh yeah, Moki Dugway for sure.

May I suggest you dry camp at Goosnecks SP as a base camp. Do not be like John Wayne who throw a whiskey bottle over the edge in the movie "Fort Apache" at this very same spot.

Great Basin is nice to see, but sticking it between Kodachrome and Capital Reef seems a little out of the way. I would save it for another trip and explore some slot canyons in Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument. Lots of boondocking spots in this area. Lots of Ancient Puebloan ruins in southern Utah to explore as well. Here is a very good website to help with your planning. Just click on the state you want and this will provide you with a lot of opportunities in that state.
