St Augustine, FL. Best things to see and do?

Definitely, visit the Alligator Park.

Fountain of Youth was a good attraction as well. Take the Trolley to get around. Parking is hard to find there and you will pay more in parking fees then you will for the Trolley. No shortage of good Restaurants. Aunt Kate's, great seafood and ya, Pizza Time was great too.

Pizza Time is the best pizza in St Augustine. Don't waste your money on Pizzalley or Al's. Go straight to Pizza Time if you want pizza. Good call Linda!

Forgot to mention taking the tour of Flagler College which once was a Henry Flagler Hotel; beautiful and very interesting. Its a college now but you can get a guided tour. Edison personally managed the electricity install.

The Memorial Presbyterian Church is worth visiting, too. Built by Flagler to honor the death of his daughter.

It was built in a year and they invented night lighting floodlights so they could work around the clock.

I guess I have a different definition of what a tourist trap is; a trap lures you in with claims of a great event or show then once you are inside its a girl and an old pony.

St. Augustine has tourists no doubt but it is filled with history, oldest city in the US, lots of beautiful scenery and has lots of cultural and ethnic influences.

I have never felt like I got ripped off. Its one of the treasures of Florida.

We camped at St Augustine a couple of years ago, toured the city and had a blast. Just the wife & I and were in new territory. Never been on a segway and thought why not. About $60 each we got a 2 plus hour tour of the city. Only the two of us and the guide. She asked our interest and went from there. We told her that we planned to tour the city tomorrow, but knew nothing of it. Wanted to know where to park, what to see, where to eat, what to avoid, and so on. She was the best!!! Came back the following day and knew what to expect, where to park, tours, lunch. It was the best and I attribute it all to our segway guide.

I find it to be a HUGE tourist trap... but we still go every couple of years. Its fun to walk around the tourist areas and look at the shops. We were just at North Beach last week and thought it was a beautiful park. It is entirely sand though, so be prepared for sand EVERYWHERE. We had a 3 year old and 1 year old as well as 3 small dogs, so we probably brought home about 100 lbs of sand with us!

Hmmm looks like we've eaten our way through St. Augustine, and we did. :)

x2 on Barnacle Bills. It is easier to get a seat than at O'Steens and they take plastic.

The Castillo, the lighthouse, St George street are a must. Even the Alligator Farm, which is admittedly a cheesy tourist trap can be fun.
