St Joesph, Mo, GS Campground?

I've got a trip planned to St. Joesph, Mo., and was wondering about a couple of campgrounds: Beacon RV Park and AOK Campground, both in St. Joesph. Couldn't find any info on RVParkreviews, so was wondering just how close to the highway/noise these are. We, got a little pop-up, so size is not a problem. All we need is electric and water, and a handy bathroom. (Water/electric optional.)

  • If you are willing to go south a little further, Weston Bend State park is very nice.
  • Hmmm, that Lewis & Clark SP sounds interesting, must check it out.

Thanks for the info on the other two.
  • We stayed at AOK last year a couple of days while visiting our son. It was ok. A lot of permanent residents and the site were close. Some sites share amenities as the water is on a splitter, but pressure was ok. Road to park was a little dusty and rough. When we were there we looked at Beacon and thought that Beacon was about the same, but a little more run down with more permanent residents tat did not keep up their sites. It was close to the main road and noisy. Our pick if we went there again would be Lewis and Clark State Park in Rushville about 10 miles or so away. Beautiful park with some 50 Amp sites available and pull thrus. No sewer and water at site, but there is a dump station. It is a beautiful quiet park.
  • Beacon RV Park in on the Belt Highway, formally the main route through St Joe. It is now a very busy city street so you would want a spot at the back of the park. I suggest you call them because I don't remember a restroom and shower. Don't know anything about the KOA.
