Starting to plan an Alaska trip what are the boon docking

Don't even think about bringing a handgun into Canada. When I was skipper of the Museum's research vessel. I moored it at the RCMP marine repair dock. They had a number of RV's that had been confiscated from US citizens trying to bring a hand gun into Canada.
Working as an Archaeologist we always had a rifle while in the field. But in my entire life I have never known a Canadian that owned a handgun.
