State parks missing on Rand McNally 7725 LM!

I bought a new RM 7725 early in December 2013. Two well-established long time state parks in our area were NOT in there under the RV campgrounds/state park search tab near Coupeville, WA. Fort Casey and Fort Ebey are major state parks on Whidbey Island WA.

Yes, I did subsequently update my unit. It made no difference. I have reported it to RM and have heard nothing.

My concern, of course, is not these parks because I know them well. What happens when I travel to other areas of my state, or other states? Will I see all established state parks available. I can't be confident.

I'm curious if any of you experience the same thing? I'm not sure what to do as I've owned it past the 30-day return period.

BTW, My older Garmin lists these parks.
  • Most GPS systems require input from the facility. We have found many government campgrounds not listed. Some don't care as they are busy any way.
We added app from UScampgrounds.info to the RM 7710. It has far more government campgrounds then standard GPSs.
  • I think you will find that lots of state, county & city parks are left out of most manufacturer's GPS points of interest. Without adding you own POIs from places like the Discovery Owners or the POI Factory, you are going to miss many campgrounds, both non-commercial & private.

If you have a phone that can use apps, AllStays Camp & RV is a great app that shows campgrounds on a map in your (or your choice of) location. It has filters so you can choose the type of campground you are looking for.
