- Bears_DenExplorerNot sure what type of CG you prefer but I always liked Hillsborough River SP which is a short drive to Plant City. Our son went to college in Lakeland and played baseball so whenever we traveled up there to see him or to go to the strawberry festival we stayed at Hillsborough River. Did not have FHU but that didn't bother us. As a side, Im not much for the private CGs that are more like a parking lots anyway. Im sure others will chime in with their preferences.
- GTO66Explorer IIFor a state park I agree Hillsborough river,if you want fhu lazy days.Last year when Blake Sheldon played traffic was a night mare.A 45 min.drive was 2.5 hours.

Friendly staff, pay once you get there. Reservations recommended..within short walking distance to Strawberry Festival midway. Great location. Almost didn't want to review, to keep a secret so that it would not get overcrowded or sold out.. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Shhh don't tell too many people about it!! :B - modern_familyExplorerLazy days is about 10 minutes away., just off of I-4, exit 10 I believe. They have nice amenities, but it is a little noisy as the camping area is across from the flying J. Traffic will be nasty no matter what at rush hour, go early or leave late. Small roads in and out if the festival make it a mess.
- JoeHExplorer IIITampa East is close by to the Strawberry Fest in Plant City. I haven't stayed there, but have driven by many times and it seems well maintained. Right off I-4, Camping World is about 1/4 mile away. Strawberry festival grounds are maybe 8 miles away.
