Study Butte Does it exist?

Looking ahead to visiting Big Bend in early June. I see mentions of Study Butte RV near Terlingua. I can find web references to it. But I cannot find a web page or any other way to contact them. Is it a real RV park?

I did find BJ's RV Park in Terlingua, it being June I suspect air conditioning may be desirable.
  • the Big Bend motel and RV park is pretty good sized...you can't miss it.
up the road a piece, not far, is, or was, a dinky little rv park of about 6 to 8 spaces with nothing much more than the electric hookups...can't recall if they had a dump station or not. it's been a few years.
  • It's a bit of a stretch to call the BBMRVP a "park". Except in the sense that you "park" your rig there, But it does work.

Normally I would recommend BJs because of the good people there, but in the summer I doubt it matters. :-)
In any event it is only a couple minutes drive from Terlingua to Study Butte or vv.

OK sounds good then. I know this is anything but the optimum time to visit the area, but it's when the schools are out and my wife is off. We are semi-immune to the heat being from Florida.

The Big Bend Resort RV Park is in Study Butte, although the dividing line between Study Butte and Terlingua is something only locals can explain (maybe). There is a second RV park in Study Butte, across from the Cottonwood Store, but I have no info on that.

I would say that Study Butte does, in fact, exist. Others who have been there may suggest otherwise. :D

Oh, expect high temps approaching 110 (or above).

Yeah we stayed in one of the park CG on the river years ago and it was d@#ned hot. Plus the vultures hanging around the campsite lent a certain quality to our stay....heh.
