Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes is nice but a bit further north.
North toward the middle of the state is Hartwick Pine (old growth forest) and Cross in the Woods (world largest crucifix).
Further north, so you might not have time, is Mackinaw Island and then all of the Upper Peninsula. Lots of trees and waterfalls. Kitch-iti-kipi or "The Big Spring" is a do not miss in the UP.
