Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to say a BIG THANKS for the feedback so far! Also to let you know that we are reading the posts with great interest and please keep them coming!... Everything we've heard so far is great advise and input.
It's beginning to sound like we need to make the trip over to the East Coast from CA as part of the vacation.. make some strategic stops at interesting places. When we get to the east coast have a pretty solid agenda on what to do and see and then use the trip back as part of the vacation.
Just off the top of my head some of the things that our family have mentioned during dinner time chats is:
- Niagra Falls
- Washington DC specifically See the Capitol (under construction :-() White house and Air And Space Museum
- NY city, catch a Ferry from Staten Island and walk Broadway and return to the last ferry at the end of the day (I did this many years ago, it is doable)
- Visit Gettysburg
- Visit Independence Hall in Phili (Wife and I have been but the kids are very keen)
- Visit a Quaker village
- Visit a typical old Fishing town and eat Lobster :-) See some of the Maine Coastline and visit pretty coastal towns
- Mnt Rushmore on on the way home
- Lincoln Library in Springfield
We want to try and stay away from hugely tourist area where you can't move..
Anyway those are just some of the rough dinner table chat items that have cropped up. Far from a plan but it may give some insite!
Please keep the ideas coming!
Thanks Again,
Steve
