The harsh reality is nobody wants to save you. We do however want to keep our public lands open.
I've spent much of my adult life enjoying the freedoms that the 36,000,000 acres of open space in California provide. First they would block off the roads. Then declare vast areas 'Wilderness' and block us out altogether. Recently they implemented the 'Motor Vehicle Travel Management Plans", which incidentally locked us out of 95% of the local forests for 5 months of the year. Also locally they installed 59 gates and 4000' of boulder barricades. The USFS also spent hundreds of thousands decommissioning roads. They also close perfectly good campsites because the 'operator' doesn't want to man them.
Is the sky falling? No. But the fences are getting closer every day and I know a frog in hot water when I see one.
We don't have to agree all the time. It would be beyond the laws of probability if we did. But to ridicule those who disagree with you is just bad form.
