Hi, My wife and I are planning to spend the winters in Florida in our class C starting next winter. We were wondering how do others deal with getting your income taxes done, do you just make sure your home by April 15?
All your 1099's, year end income statements, etc have to be mailed to you by Jan. this gives you way plenty time to get it via forwarding of your mail. If you have your mail temporialy forwarded by the us post office it literally does not take any more time than if you were back at home.
I get my income statements, etc. via the mail. Send it and all your receipts to your accountant back home and have a phone and/or Skype meeting. Done. It's the same as being there. Only he's in the cold and you are sitting in the warmth of the Florida sun! :W
IMHO, JMHO 'my opinion' of doing Income tax returns on line.
EVERY year hundreds of thousands loose their income tax return checks, and have their identities stolen. And it takes them years to get it straighten out. Still can't understand why anyone still thinks that is any where's near a safe way to go to file taxes. All it takes is just one hack....yours.
Then the IRS
lies about just how many people were hacked.:(
Cyber hack got access to over 700,000 IRS accounts...
The IRS initially said approximately 100,000 taxpayer accounts had been compromised, then raised the total to as many as 334,000 in August. Friday's estimate added an additional 390,000 accounts, boosting the estimated total to more than 700,000.The cyber thieves unsuccessfully tried to gain access to more than 500,000 other taxpayer accounts, the IRS said. That total is also far higher than previously estimated.
