I love Sequoia National Park, there are two Caverns you can take a tour of, one is Boyden Cavern down at the bottom of Kings Canyon, the other is Crystal Cave near the exit on Hwy. 198. There are some nice trails that will take you by Giant Sequoia Groves that are worth checking out. Be careful if you decide to go down Hwy. 198 back to the valley, It is steep and winding and can be hard on the brakes. Usually when I leave the park I take Hwy. 180 in and out. You shouldn't have a problem getting a campsite this time of the year, most of the time when I visit, I usually find a place off the side of the road to park, I don't know if they have any problems with that nowadays though, I haven't been there since 2006. It's definitely worth visiting. Have a Great Trip!
