Tennessee

Looking at leaving about April 20th. The plan.....
Ct. To Asheville NC all in one straight shot
Asheville to Pigeon Forge
Pigeon Forge to Chattanooga
Chattanooga to Memphis
Memphis to Nashville
Nashville to Berlin Ohio Amish country
Berlin to Ct in one straight shot

Input on were to stay and things to do. Would you skip any of these? Was only planing on staying two nights at each stop unless we really liked the area and wanted to see/do more.

Really? I was wondering why anyone would want to go there, or Memphis and Chattanooga for that matter.

Really what would you suggest north florida?
  • Well, if you're not into Amish country no reason to stop there. Just one-night in a Walmart, truck plaza or cg.

Again cut your number of destinations down to one or two in order to see and do more things unique to the place. TripAdvisor.com has great listings and provides reviews.

It depends on what you like and whether or not you have children with you. As an experienced traveler I recommend only going to two places and spend more time in one or two places rather tthan trying to dash from place to place. Travel is about savoring the places you visit rather than simply putting a check mark on a to do list.

We would spend more time in Chattanooga and Amish country and save Nashville and Memphis for a music-themed trip. There's plenty to see and do in Chattanooga. Amish country is relaxing with great comfort food restaurants. Here's Chattanooga's Trip Advisor Page

I recommend going to visit Lehmans General Store in Kidron, OH if you go to Amish country. Tons of fascinating items there.

Thanks, no kids and I can skip the amish country. We have done the amish thing in Pa. I was just looking to break up the trip on the way home.

    We can stay longer.
  • When in Nashville we always stay at Seven Points Campground. You will not be disappointed.

    That's a joke, right?

There's this place called the Grand ol' Opry, and live music everywhere, including shows by Nashville's best studio musicians.

If you have no interest in that, then by all means skip Nashville.
