Tent camping near L.A. with canoe rental available?

hi there, So my daughter has assigned me the task of finding her a campground within a few hours of L.A. where she can tent camp for a weekend and a place that offers canoes for rent. Also it needs ...

She'll have to take a ferry ride but you can tent camp at Two Harbors on Catalina Island. Probably need to swap the canoe for a kayak but it is truly a unique camping experience inside Los Angeles County.
