Tent camping near L.A. with canoe rental available?

hi there,
So my daughter has assigned me the task of finding her a campground within a few hours of L.A. where she can tent camp for a weekend and a place that offers canoes for rent. Also it needs to be pet friendly. Its way out of the realm of where we usually stay so I have no idea. Anyone have any suggestions for her?
