The "day use" fee does sound a bit high, but fees like that are very common around me. Important thing is to really read the fine print on all that paperwork some campgrounds give you (or, hopefully, have on their website).
Same with the $10 fee for "checking in early". That is also common around me (New England area). I've never really understood it, though... if the spot is available, just let the camper in. I've been told it is mostly to discourage people from showing up early and causing a back up when they run into people trying to packup and leave their campsites.
I don't really understand the "dump fee" of $5. If they are sending a "honey wagon" (pump out truck) to your camper I guess I could understand that, but if you have to pack up and drive your camper to a dump station... that has always been included in any campsite fee I've paid - as far as I know. Even Fort Wilderness doesn't charge extra for dumping.
