Tetons

Sounds about right.

Some see the Tetons just a drive thru. We spent 8 days there in June and hated to leave.
If you care about photography, try and do Mormon Row early in the morning. Dawn if possible.
We always stay at Gros Ventre just a short drive away.

How many days in Yellowstone?
1/3 to 1/4 the time would be my estimate for Teton.

It depends on your interests. We can easily stay a week enjoying the scenery, hiking, fishing, and enjoying the historical sites. Yellowstone is fascinating for animal viewing, the geysers, and the falls. You will enjoy both places. We are making our 50th visit in August to both.

If you hike you'll want to spend as much time as you can. The trails are awesome at every turn - lakes and waterfalls and vistas. If you bike the park has a terrific paved path along the roadway going right by the mountains. You can take a gentle raft trip down the Snake River and you might even see a moose in the water with you. We did. Naturally, there's fishing if that's your thing. The ski area of Jackson has a chairlift ride. The town of Jackson has a rodeo, shopping, restaurants and major groceries just south of town to replenish your pantry/refrigerator. We like Yellowstone but love Grand Teton Nat'l Park! There are two large (300-site) dry campgrounds with dump and water fill - no reservations and they rarely fill. We like Gros Ventre because it's more open with views of the mountains and with bison, elk and moose coming through. Colter bay is very wooded so you don't have the views. Next door is Colter Bay RV if you need hookups. Both are at Jackson Lake.

We just got back from there and we spent 5 days in Yellowstone and 2.5 in the Tetons coming from Fishing Bridge. I liked Yellowstone but I could sit in my kayak on Jackson Lake and look at those mountains all day long. If I had the time I would have stayed another day or so. Stay at Colter Bay campground in the park. Full hookups and maybe 100 yards from the lake.

Just like all the National Parks Yellowstone and the Tetons are just Different - Yellowstone can fill your plate with Variety but I am like Rangerman - I can stare at those Rocks every day for a long time - sort of like a Sun Set, Just never gets old.

But then again Yellowstone has never gotten old either - no wrong choices just not enough TIME.

What ever you decide, more than likely you will be back, hopefully again and again.

OK, thanks everyone! I`ll do 2 1/2 days then. we`ll be in Yellowstone 3 1/2 days. The 1/2 day we`ll be coming in from the north and doing some of the sites on the way to Fishing Bridge.

OK, trying to make reservations on line, but after I select my dates it asks me to select my place to stay, but there is nothing to select. tried it on a couple different devices (phone, laptop, tablet). has anyone run into this? I`ll have to call today!

X2 on the river float trip 2gypsies mentioned. That was the highlight of our visit, along with seeing beautiful Jenny Lake.
