Texas tips?

I prefer Port Aransas to Rockport, and the Gulf Coast to the Rio Grande Valley, for atmosphere and the opportunity to do things that interest me. There is a substantial temperature gradient across southern TX and even Corpus Christi itself is ~5 degrees colder than Port Aransas. For us, inland areas such as San Antonio and Fredericksburg are far colder than we like. A multi-cultural environment in south TX is by no means restricted to San Antonio; it's hard to avoid pretty much anywhere.

And as for those who think Port Aransas is populated by the "upper class", I can only say that they let us in and we surely aren't in that group! IMHO if you prefer one area to another simply say so, there's no need to use unwarranted pejoratives about the places you don't like.
