I would argue Empire State Building as central icon of NYC
I wouldn't necessarily be able to identify the empire state building, I don't know what percentage of people would, but I think most people would recognize the Statue of Liberty. You might be right if technically it's not in new york city ? - garmpExplorer IIMaybe not a national landmark, but certainly worth while.

I've lived here all my life (70 years), so I googled Cincinnati Landmarks. I recognize the names, but I've only visited two. The Old Times-Star newspaper building. And that was when I was about 10 years old and delivered papers for them. They went belly up years ago.
And U.S. Grant's boyhood home which is in Georgetown, OH. about 30 miles from here. Its only two empty rooms, so it didn't take long.
