This is not quite a Milky Way shot, since it was taken an hour after sunset (so that the sky was still a little light) -- but it is in the same category (boondocking in remote places with lots of stars). This was taken in the Eastern Sierra, a couple of days after a snowstorm in late May of 2014. I just recently re-worked the shot in Lightroom to reduce the contrast, so that the snow on the mountains could be seen:
