We went to Idaho for the eclipse – this is the Sawtooth Range, north of Stanley. A thin slice of moon had just come up, lighting up the peaks but not interfering too much with the Milky Way:

And this shot of Rainier, a few days later, was taken just after the moon had set behind the peak. That’s the White River in the foreground – during the day it’s kind of muddy, but it looks white during a long exposure:
