the new texas safety inspection

i would like to know if any body knows how the new safety inspection will work for people who full time and out of state for 11 months at a time and how will i get my plates when we retire in dec of this yr and we leave tx till next oct for doctor appt as my plates are due in march of 2015

  • When the new system begins.
    If your inspection expires before your registration expires, then you must have it inspected within 90 days of new registration and the station will give you proof of inspection for your registration.
    If you registration expires before your inspection expires, then you can get the registration and will not need a new inspection until next year.
    Only one window sticker with the new system.
  • that is one reason we went with South Dakota as our residence.
  • I'd suggest you call or visit your motor vehicle department to discuss it with them to see if you can change your annual schedule so it aligns with your travel plans.
