In 30 years good union jobs have diminished and defined pensions were done away with and replaced with 401k accounts. Wall street took the fees but paid little returns. Business and Govt downsizing meant that workers didn't have job security with enough cash flow to fund those 401 accounts. Even folks with pensions have seen them taken away by corporate mergers and teabaggers gutting public pensions.
On the other hand, there are some very rich people now that probably wouldn't be caught dead in an RV. The rest of us caught in the middle would travel more but the price of fuel makes it pretty expensive with cash flow.
You're welcome, America!
John, that should be "Welcome to the new America"! Where there is no longer a middle class!
I tell the morning coffee guys that "Union like" wages put most of the RV's in our snowbird park, and that is going down the drain, as the money is all being consolidated at the top!
Sad days ahead folks!

thanks Chris. Glad you picked up on it. It's not inevitable that we'll have sad days ahead. But so long as we stay greedy and don't consider our shared interests, we'll only have ourselves to blame. I would bet many of the fears and complaints posted here come from tea party-ers that support politics that are dooming the middle class.
It's ridiculous to blame folks for "not saving" when they have no pension. It's not a surprise that the noted trend here is the remaining new snowbirders are "retired govt workers and sold out business owners". And now the tea baggers wants to gut govt pensions.
Hard to see how any working class stiff does not pick up on it! We fought two unfunded wars and gave tax breaks to the wealthy and now they want to raid working class earned benefits to pay off the loans!!
Hopefully we will not see blood in your streets to reverse what is happening. Funny how they have wound up some people to believe that the whole problem is people that do not want to work! (Like look over here! While others are running the other direction with the money)
Follow the money!!! It is not in snowbird parks!!!
Which could take us off into snowbird health care issues! Sure would be nice to have a nice national plan that work transparently anywhere we went!
