My children and other young visitors to this area (the Rio Grande Valley of Texas)see everything they want to see in a few days and are ready for something else. They are not at all taken with the potlucks and card games of those waiting for the inevitable to happen. They want to see "what is over the next hill", just as I did thirty years ago.
I totally agree. There's a lot more to life than pot lucks and playing cards. And let's not forget the blank stare at the screen on a slot machine....I don't think I will ever get old enough to have to settle for that. I'd rather just save the fuel and not travel...
