My in-laws who were WWII veteran's in their last years lived on $1,200 a month SS. He got $800 she got $400. They went to Florida every year for 5-6 months. He would bring down a freezer full of ducks, and then fill it up with fish. They had a tin can on some land which eventually rotted away. They then moved into a hotel for the winters.
I often think that is why they were called the greatest generation. They lived life to the best they could, they didn't sit around an cry about how they had it so bad.
To this day I still admire them and their ability to overcome adversity. Others just like to complain, that is the only joy they get I guess.
what.....does the WWII generation have to do with Snowbirding not being expensive because you must be doing it wrong?
