An interesting topic for sure. Some thoughts of mine to add that hasn't been approached yet.
(This is a big issue I think) In our part of the country it seems that the old rule of marriage of forever has changed to somewhere around 10 years and it is time for a change. These divorces usually have one or two children involed so now there are huge divorce issues that arise. Homes are having to be sold to settle agreements, child support is paid out, insurances have to be changed. Does this kinda paint the picture? now add all this up and you now have a much later start on your savings and retirements and lives have change so drastically that it is hard to get a grip on savings. There is so much sadness in your life now do to the divorce that you have to spend money foolishly to try and find happiness. Hince no money saved. I wonder if any of this is happening to the younger generations.
Also keep in mind that retirement ages have increased before you can sign up for social security and medicare so this could be slowing some down.
Just some thoughts.
Have a great day!!
