The snowbird crowd is ageing
Seems to me in Texas the snowbird crowd is ageing, most are over 70 and many over 80. Every year more are too sick or old to make the trip and many have passed on. There are very few younger snowbirds...

I've seen the same thing in some COE parks. Nothing worst then driving a ways, getting to a COE at 2pm and being told all the walk ups are taken. I was so mad once in Waco that I unhooked the car and drove threw the park. When I approached the paid "volunteers" again noting that spots were open and I was going to call the main reservation number to verify, they magically had a walk up for me. Later I found out they were saving spots for friends who were arriving late in the day.
