The Springs at Borrego RV Resort

Just wondering if anyone reading this is currently at The Springs at Borrego RV Resort.

They just opened up a new section of camp sites that are available this winter and I have booked site # 821 for Feb & Mar. I have stayed there in the past and know the general lay-out of the resort, but the new area is not yet on their website campground map. I know all the sites are 10/10/10 so I'm not worried. I'm just curious.

I would appreciate it very much if I could get a picture or two of the site I have reserved.

  • Well, here you go!

I have taken the liberty of scanning the brochure which does contain the new sites as a pdf file.

I've also taken a picture, sorry, I got 822, 821 is to the right but they are virtually identical. 821 is next to the corner site (820) and your curbside will be to the south (the airport), your roadside is to the mountains. You will get morning and afternoon sun on the curbside.

I haven't checked to see if that site is "double ended" (sewers and services on both sides), if it is and you have a class A or C you could go in the other way.

According to Kerry we are moving into a new site tomorrow just across the street from you, on Friday they were finishing the TV cable set up. Projects don't always finish on time, we will see.

A site picture and the campground map are on our blog. This forum doesn't allow attaching pictures directly and my web host doesn't allow copy and paste of text from Firefox. Tough computer day! I'll take some more pictures later if you want but I'm off to Carlees for an early meal (still on eastern time!).

Google Earth appears to have a shot of the latest section recently put in so check that out.

I have a class C so a view out of the passenger side of the rig would be perfect.

I did check Google Earth but it only shows the same thing as I found on Google Maps - just the unimproved new area without even the roads in.

    Thanks

This person might be there. Search 'borrego' in this forum.

    What is 10/10/10?

The rating given by Good Sam.
    10/10*/10 is a perfect score.
So I expect any site at The Springs at Borrego will be great (although some will certainly have better views than others). I'm just happy to get in.
  • The original section had a good view of mountains to the west and also Coyote Mountain directly in front of you.

The new section put in a couple years ago somewhat duplicated the first two rows of the original section and you still had a pretty good view of mountains to the west and Coyote Mountain directly in front of you.

The latest new section just finished faces east so you're only view of Coyote Mountain would be out side windows of your rig.

Google Earth appears to have a shot of the latest section recently put in so check that out.

But checking on sites at the Springs is somewhat like questioning Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates about what he has inside for you. LOL
