Calm down, guys. Remember that there are people comfortable in crowds, not so much in isolation, as well as folks who prefer their privacy, and not comfortable in crowds. Thank God there are places and times for each. Choose your poison and be happy.
Looking at that picture, I gotta say "not my cup of tea, either." We once sold a house at the end of a dead-end street, purposefully vacant lots on either side and several hundred acres of undeveloped land behind it. Great place to live. The lots were an acre or so in size, so you could see half a dozen houses looking out the front window. The neighbors we did have would give you the shirt off their backs. But they'd also leave you alone unless you told 'em you needed a shirt. Did I mention what a great neighborhood that was?
Showed the house to a young couple. The wife remarked she couldn't possibly live in such isolation for fear of robbers and burglars and other nogoodniks. But we sold the house anyway -- to someone else.
