Timberlane in Bradenton FL
Continuing with our first snowbirding winter, we wanted a place in or around Bradenton so we could spend the holidays near friends and family. There are several parks in the area, and I'm not sure how I found this park, but I'm glad we did. I say I'm not sure how I found it because it's a new park (opened in February 2015) so it's not on Good Sam and I wrote the first review on RV Park Reviews and Trip Advisor. Somehow the word got out; they are booked Jan-Mar.
When I called to reserve a site, I left a message and the owner called back. I asked a few questions and found that there was no pool or other facilities, just 56 sites with full hook ups. The clubhouse/showers/laundry as well as the pool are under construction and I expect they will be operational this spring. The park itself is small - 56 sites - but beautifully landscaped and well maintained. They are waiting for permits to expand the park and double the size, basically making a mirror image of the front of the park in back.
The residents are a mix of seasonals and transients. We stayed 3 weeks. Walmart/Publix/major drug chains are all nearby and the park is convenient to Sarasota, Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch. Enterprise in Bradenton will pick you up, but you may need to explain to the driver how to find it. It's on SR 64 3/4 miles east of I-75 (exit 220).
Other than the lack of facilities, there is nothing bad to say about this park. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly and everyone in the park said Hi. Things may get a little dusty when they start developing the back sites, but the current construction near the entrance did not disturb the tranquil nature of Timberlane.
