To Canadian Snowbirds: Prescription medications

I was wondering what you all do about prescription medications. When we crossed the border, for the first time we were asked about prescription meds. This is the first year I've had anything of note...

I often travel with 3-5 months of meds and it has never been an issue provided they are in their original containers and have a valid prescription.
