Hi,
If you change the dosage it automatically invalidates any medical insurance you have purchased for the visit. All changes must be made at least 90 days before you travel to USA.
Don't volunteer information to the crossing guards.
I flew this year with four months of drugs for myself and two months supply for a person who is an US citizen. There were no issues. I did have the prescriptions with me.
I have sent prescriptions from Canada to USA with no consequences. They were clearly identified on the require documentation.
The condition my meds are for was diagnosed at the end of September and I've been on medications with dosages changing every 2 weeks...so, yeah, pre-existing condition, no insurance coverage for that particular condition. I'm covered for unrelated stuff, though. With Medipac, it has to be 90 days with no changes prior to the trip in order for the condition to be considered "stable". We're being pretty cautious with my health this year, but my doctor was very supportive of our making this trip and he said, go, have fun, just be careful. If things start to go wrong, we'll be heading back to Canada early.
Yeah, we don't volunteer info to the border agents, just answer the questions honestly and without hesitation.
