Toledo Bend, LA

Looking for info to help make a choice between two Toledo Bend campgrounds. We're crossed between North Toledo Bend SP and Cypress Bend Park. Haven't been to either & am asking for you input.
We have a 22' RV, but consider ourselves more campers rather than RVers. Can't take the shoulder to shoulder lots some call campgrounds. Want trees, bushes, growies and space between sites. It's only a night over, but with a full day of exploring/sight seeing, etc before our next stop, which would be the town of Natchitoches.
Thanks in advance.
  • Both have nice sized sites with trees. North Toledo is water/electric and has walking/hiking trails. Cypress Bend - operated by Sabine River Authority - is full HU and is more water activity oriented.
  • Hadn't been to North Toledo Bend SP, South Toledo SP is nice. Cypress Bend is a commercial park and pretty nice but lots of people.
  • If you are talking about Bend,Oregon at the State Park you better make reservations 6,9 or 12 months in advice. Also make sure you get the right size of spot of fit into. They have a RV site at Sister, Oregon which I think would be better for a day or so.
