Your photo of Ice Lake reminds me of one of my favorite backpacking destinations in the High Sierras - Sharp Note Lake.

At 11,300 Sharp Note Lake is not for every RVer! Are there hookups? lol.

I have been up there it is awesome. Pictures do not do it justice

Sky Looks pretty Good Too.

At first, we were overwhelmed by the everyday Colorado high-altitude dark purplish blue sky -- it felt like we were astronauts on the edge of space. After a month, we started taking it for granted. Now, back in Southern Calif (with a hazy pastel blue sky), we are once again aware of how amazing it was.

On several of the photos I took, I actually had to make the sky duller, by toning down the saturation of the sky during the editing process. It looked unnatural, even though the photo was perfectly accurate.

If you think about it at 12,000+ feet you are over 2 miles HIGH - "That's a Colorado Rocky Mountain High"

Makes you appreciate a cloud or two. :)

When in Silverton you are truly in the middle of some of the most Beautiful Wild areas of Colorado.

Thought you might have gotten to the "Famous" Crystal Mill - Crystal Mill Marble Crested Butte as it would Appreciated an image or two from Your Eye. :)

We were just a few miles from the mill, in North Pole Basin, but the road between the two was too tricky for me. I have a full size truck, rather than a jeep, and there are some mining roads in Colorado that are for jeeps only. I suppose a really expert offroader could take a truck on those roads, but that is not me.

Having said that, we did travel on roads that were so difficult that DW insisted on getting out and walking, for fear that the truck would roll over and go off the cliff. That's when you know you are really having fun! ;)

I had taken my mother on some of the 4x4 roads above Silverton many years ago. She kept commenting and gasping, although they were far from the most difficult roads up there. Finally, on a section of road that was a little off camber, I turned to her and said "I really don't know what the rollover angle is for this truck". :E

She never made another sound! ;)
