Won't happen in Alabama. They are trying to shut down the state parks due to lack of funding.
Alabama has a high sales tax, an income tax. and the fuel taxes are higher. Where does all the money go? Certainly not to the state park system, and not on maintenance for highways. Interstate 59, which is the route I used to take to go back to Florida to visit family, is off my list because it is like a washboard. The state has been building Interstate 22 for decades, and it still isn't connected to Interstate 65.
Glad I don't live in the Yellowhammer state, even though my family roots are there.
