Transit to south Texas

Transiting To south Texas from the west currently. The oilfield work between Carlsbad and pecos is extreme and you have to run fast to keep up with the Hugh number of 18wheel trucks. Carlsbad is inundated with workers looking for a long term Rv spot. Lady at the Rv park south end of Carlsbad said they get 25 calls a day for long term.

Rv park 6 miles east of fort Stockton has a new owner, upgraded cable and added a bunch of long term spots to there east side. It's a nice facility priced well and had a good number of pull through spaces available at three in the afternoon. We have had poor experience finding a spot for the next 200 miles until closer to San Antonio.

  • Have never had a problem getting a spot at Gateway to the Gulf on the SE side of Victoria. Easy full hookup pull-throughs and exceptional staff. Take Passport America off season.
  • Wal-Mart (once again) to the rescue. The one in Victoria, TX gets used a lot for that very reason.
