The first several years we moved to south Texas the house heater would run maybe two nights a year. Last year and this year it has run almost every night. Could I be experiencing the effect of maturity or could it be global warming defined as the need to warm up your house because it really is colder outside.
You're mature enough to turn the thermostat on maybe?;)

Let's see...today in Omaha there is a high of 17 degrees and a low of -5, but it is sunny. No brainer for me!
I know!! I'm in Omaha and wish I were down there with all you good folks!! - SteveRuffExplorer

How much of this stuff have you shoveled? If you prefer Omaha no one forces you to come down here. Even San Diego gets rain in winter. So, take it white or clear, your choice. - ventrmanExplorerIt is supposed to be 57 tomorrow. Around the 22nd or 23rd, it is supposed to be about 80.

It's the fifth winter in the RGV for us and so far everyone has been like this. If you're here for 4-6 months no problem with 2-6 weeks of winter. If you just come down for Jan/Feb and you get 6 weeks of cold, well a lot of time and money was spent for very little return. - sushidogExplorerYep, 20 degrees in South Louisiana yesterday and this morning. When is that global warming greenhouse effect going to kick in? We could sure use some right about now. I've got a light on my water pump and a heater running inside my camper to stop the pipes from bursting. We're not used to this cold weather down here. At least we don't have to drive in ice and snow like those Northerners do. ;)
Chip - pawattExplorerFrost warnings in the northern 2/3 of Florida. Snow in AZ. Cold everywhere I think.
- jswatExplorerMy friends are in Florida right now where it's in the 20's, while here in South Texas it's 40. Just wait a few days it'll get better. I hope.
