We talked to the ranger about resettling the bear in the wilderness -- he said they have tried that and it is like dropping off a city kid into the wild. They lack the skills to survive. He said the bear would probably have to be put down -- very sad. (For those who have not had a chance to look at the blog, a bear tried to break into our trailer while we were asleep! He ran away when we pounded on the wall. And then we saw his prints (and then the bear himself) the next morning. There are photos of him on the blog, if you want to see a skinny young bear.)
