Trip Report: Snow-hiking in the Mt. Whitney area

(I couldn't figure out where to post this, since we weren't boondocking -- but the hiking was typical of the stuff that would be of interest to boondockers, so that's why it's here.) Anyway, here...

FWIW, beware of the switchbacks up to Trailcrest, in anything but bone-dry brown dirt conditions (August). With any remaining ice or snow, an easy trail becomes a deadly cliff traverse.
