We decided to stay at Streetsboro KOA. Nothing special about this park really, but our site was twice the size of previous KOAs we have stayed at, they had a fenced dog run, and the surrounding area is in a good neighborhood.
Would you say there isn't a bad site at the park or that they were all as decent as the one you had? Just wondering because I have been thinking about doing a very similar trip as to what you did. The amenities probably aren't as important as having a nice decent site to come back to considering we would be out sightseeing most of the time.
We have done the biking thing several times and have stayed at a hotel. With seven of us know, I have thought that the camping aspect of it might work better as it is probably a little easier to handle the bikes and biking equipment at a camp site vs a hotel.
Also, great info on the stuff to do in Cleveland. My kids would love the freighter and the science museum. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
I just checked the map, I think we were in site 711. That area (708-715) was where we stayed and I'd go back there again. Sites were decent size and we backed up to the woods instead of having a road on either side, which probably made the sites bigger. Some of the other sites in the middle of the park seemed smaller.
They were adding a small pool when we left, that will be nice for your kids.
Be sure to bring your fishing poles with you. There were two ponds and more kids were fishing than anything else.
The science museum and freighter have lower price ticket if you buy both at the same time. Also, the rock and roll hall of fame is also next to these two buildings, walking distance actually, but we don't care for that type of thing and skipped it.
Have fun.
