The Alamo Bowl is on Monday 12/30, so the traffic will only let up on 1/1/14. In general, our traffic has been rapidly increasing over the past few years since our economy is booming (Eagle Ford oil boom, relocation of corporations from the Rust Belt and California). Our traffic is nowhere near as bad as Houston or Austin, but we are trending in that direction.
That being said, weather is spotty here but overall is pretty good all winter. When we get cold weather, it is usually warm again in a couple days. As far as heat goes, I'd avoid San Antonio May through September if I didn't have to be here to work.
