I live in the Marquette area and there are a bunch of things to see and do, like it was asked earlier, need more information!
to the OP:
x2 on Marquette as well as Munising... take a boat tour to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. If you have time there's a ferry to Grand Island National Recreation Area.
If you're feeling extra adventurous, check out Isle Royale National Park. 165 miles of trails and 36 campgrounds, accessible by foot or boat, pack it in, pack it out - no pesky RV's. I think it's safe to say, it's the most isolated NP in the lower 48.
Why are RV's considered pesky? That's how all of us roll.
I think that's a quote from the NPS website :) Also banned are radios which can receive commercial broadcasts. - GeoBoyExplorer

I might suggest that if you can change your timing, Mid-August to late Sept. are the best times for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. June is mosquito/black fly time. :)
X2 - the colors in the Fall are wonderful. - Dick_BExplorerTake the boat ride thru the locks. When you get to Canada the US looks pretty good.
- theoldwizard1Explorer IIThat is a lot of driving for day 2 !
Are you headed for the west end or going to cross the bridge ? - 2gypsies1Explorer IIII might suggest that if you can change your timing, Mid-August to late Sept. are the best times for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. June is mosquito/black fly time. :)
- drsteveExplorerIn the UP, don't miss the Keweenaw peninsula, Porcupine Mountains wilderness area, or the Pictured Rocks boat tour. Tahquamenon Falls is a must, so are the Soo Locks. And make sure to eat a pasty or two. They're great!
- dewey02Explorer IIMore info needed.
Are you asking just about Vandalia or about the UP?
Are you going up through Wisconsin or Lower Michigan?
How many days for travel? How many days in UP?
