Trucker will help travelers. I had on see me limping a M/C down the shoulder on MT Shasta. I had a slow leak in the front tire & he told me there was a rest area just ahead and he had air. (The on board compress for air breaks) He filled my tire and I was on my way ahead so if he saw me again he knew what I needed.
That's far different than taking a parking spot that those under DOT hrs of operation need. They must park and get sleep, logged, some times by computer with GPS tracking. That truck does not have the option of the next KOA or Good Sams. There are places it is not legal to park on the street or at home. Give those drivers a break and let them have the truck parking.
Here is a small test, think one one thing you have that has not been on a truck multi times. I can name one Baby's.
